Group Counselling

What do we offer?

Group Counselling brings individuals together in a supportive and culturally grounded environment. Our groups draw upon traditional teachings and contemporary therapeutic techniques to facilitate healing and personal growth. Participants share experiences, learn from one another, and gain a sense of community and belonging while addressing common issues such as grief, trauma, and addiction.

Women’s Wellness Group: Reconnecting with the Wisdom of Our Ancestors

Indigenous women in our traditional societies held a profound and respected role within our communities, contributing significantly to the well-being of both family and society as a whole. However, the legacy of historical trauma has led many of us to either lose touch with or become disconnected from the profound strengths and wisdom passed down by our Kokums, Nookoo, Kunsi (grandmothers) and ancestors.

The Women’s Wellness Group is a weekly gathering that serves as a nurturing and empowering space for Indigenous women to rediscover, rekindle, and reclaim the inherent wisdom and resilience rooted in their cultural heritage. This group recognizes that the healing journey often requires the support and wisdom of a community, and it provides a platform for women to come together and support each other in their paths toward holistic well-being.

Key Features:

  • Cultural Reconnection: The group offers a sacred space where Indigenous women can engage in cultural practices, ceremonies, and teachings, guided by the wisdom of our elders and ancestors. It is an opportunity to reconnect with the traditions, rituals, and stories that have sustained our communities for generations.
  • Healing Journey: Participants will embark on a healing journey that addresses various aspects of well-being, including emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual health. The group sessions are designed to facilitate personal growth, self-awareness, and resilience-building.
  • Ongoing Sessions: The Women’s Wellness Group runs weekly on an ongoing basis, with participants registering for 2–3-month sessions. This extended commitment allows for deeper connections, consistent growth, and the building of a strong sisterhood.

Sessions within the group may vary based on the specific needs and interests of the participants, ensuring that the content remains relevant and responsive to the evolving journey of each woman.

By joining the Women’s Wellness Group, you have the opportunity to rediscover the strength and wisdom of your Indigenous heritage, foster personal growth, and build a network of support and sisterhood with like-minded women on a similar journey.
